“And all dared to brave unknown terrors, to do mighty deeds, to boldly split infinitives that no man had split before-and thus was the Empire forged.”
Born in the USSR (Minsk, Belarus) to black-and-white television in the early 1980’s, daughter of an English Language Professor on her Mother’s side and a French interpreter, turned entrepreneur, turned diplomat, turned retired bon vivant - on her Father’s, - Galina spent her college years diligently studying Languages, General Linguistics, Literature and Teaching Methodology.
Her post-college years in contrast were spent unabashedly on moving countries, making friends in expat communities as far as Istanbul, using her language learning capabilities to decode the ever changing scenery, and last but not least, - perusing the Internet and observing the cultural shift in society, stimulated by technology and innovation.
From the moment she created her first web page titled “Where the heck is Belarus?!”, to helping her technology geek friends put their complex ideas into marketable words, to her first job in New York in 2010 and finally - her transformation as a friend to startups and a person in venture today, - she knows for a fact that where and who she is, is equal parts the result of her colorful upbringing, travel experiences, curiosity for technology, relentless community building, paying it forward and genuine love for people who choose to defy all odds every day. Her mission is to help entrepreneurs find their success, investors - find their best founders, corporates and governments - to commit to their promise to support the development of innovation hubs feeding the economy, and last but not least - to be of highest service to the ecosystem and industry that she proudly calls home.
